Tangmere Airfield Nurseries’ Director, Robert Searle and General Manager, Gerard Vonk, were delighted to lead a tour, explaining our progressive growing methods and how we are managing critical resources on the nursery. The visit also included the trials glasshouse where we are introducing new varieties.
The visit was first stop on a day’s itinerary to horticultural businesses and members of The West Sussex Growers’ Association (WSGA) organised by WSGA member, John Hall, and WSGA Chairman and Fargro Managing Director, Richard Hopkins. Lunch followed, where the member growers were able to have an open discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing the British Horticulture sector today.

The West Sussex Growers’ Association (WSGA) is the specialist branch of the National Farmers’ Union which represents horticultural producers in West Sussex – horticulture being one of the largest industries in the region.
