Through a mix of fun-related activities including growing seeds, West Sussex Library Service is helping children to learn more about the importance of food for growing minds and bodies. Children can watch food related stories online, take part in competitions, try cooking and science experiments with food, as well as planting seeds. They can pick up a bag containing all they need for the activities from the library door.
At a number of library locations, food rescue and education charity, UK Harvest will have a pop-up presence, sharing activity sheets, recipe ideas and more to promote issues of healthy eating and avoiding food waste.
